Backfill

It has taken many many tonns of sand, but it is starting to look good around the house.

Ralph's new toy hard at work.

Piping installed to control the water around the house.

All cleaned up. No more small lakes around the house.

To stop theft of materials from the job site we've install lots of high-tech video serveillance cameras that don't need power.
If that doesn't keep them out, the gate should.

2nd floor

The ceiling joists are in to support the second floor.

The view from our kitchen window.

The tie rods that keep the logs tight.

The sheathing for the 2nd floor is installed.

The opening in the floor is in the great room that is open to the upstairs.

Garage and water

With the logs done, they got started on the garage.

Before they could go too far on the backfill, the waterline from the well had to be run to the house.

Our first service to the house.

Filling the garage

It took a large crew and alot of stone to fill the garage, but they got it done in a day. I heard the crew slept well that night.

They filled it one block at a time and tamped it.

All done, ready for concrete.

Logs are done!

The crew made great progress on the logs and finished it in no time. This is the east face of the house.

This is the west side.
